An EMT provides basic emergency care and transport for critical patients. They have the necessary skills and knowledge and use standard ambulance equipment. EMTs work under medical supervision and connect emergency scenes to healthcare services. Standards for EMTs have been updated over the years, with the latest revision in 2023.

 

In this program you will learn Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Trauma Emergencies, Cardiac Care and AED Use, Special Patient Populations, Basic stabilization of injuries, and administration of basic medications.
